From 01st November to 30th June, Jatka (less than 25 cm), procurement, transportation, stocking, marketing, buying and selling and exchange are completely prohibited.
Details
According to the Fisheries Protection and Conservation Act, 1950 and the Fisheries Protection and Conservation Rules, 1985, from November 1 to June 30, a total of eight (08) months 10 hrs or 25 cm small hilsa (jatka) was procured, transported, stocked, bought and sold. Completely forbidden. Violators of this law will be punished with 1-2 years imprisonment or a fine of up to Rs 5,000 or both. Obey fisheries laws, save hilsa resources.
